Nihi Sumba's spa is five kilometres from the resort, and getting there is a choice: a 120-minute coastal trek, a 90-minute horseback ride or cycle, or a 15-minute drive in an open-air safari vehicle. The destination is the Nihioka Valley, where the spa sits across 100 acres between rice fields and the ocean, and a Spa Safari can include equine massage, reiki, hidden coves and a private villa stay. Nihioka is also home to retired horses, which take part in equine wellness experiences including reiki and yoga. Back at the resort on Sumba's coast, the horses enter the ocean daily. Sumba is a short flight from Bali, and equine retreats with the resort's Sandalwood ponies are also offered.
